A Thousand Yards is the seventh episode of NCIS Season 21 and the 464th episode of the entire NCIS series.
It is also the 1,000th episode of the entire NCIS franchise.
Synopsis While at his wife's graveside, Vance is shot and wounded, sending the NCIS team on a race to find out who's responsible, with the team soon discovering it's connected to a case that retired NCIS Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs worked on twenty years ago. As that goes on, Vance tries to mend fences with his estranged son, Jared.
Major Events With Vance hospitalized, McGee becomes Acting Director.
It's revealed that Jackie Vance died on January 11, 2013.
It's also revealed that Curtis Hubley wants to become a probie, presumably an NCIS field agent.
