Belly of the Beast is the second episode of NCIS: Los Angeles Season 8 and also the 170th episode of the entire NCIS: Los Angeles series.
It is the second and final part of "High-Value Target".
Synopsis
Having arrived in Syria, Callen, Sam, Kensi and Deeks head to Syria to capture a high-value target but things go horribly wrong when their chopper is shot down with the resulting crash leaving the team stranded in hostile surroundings and Kensi also badly injured, forcing Callen, Sam and Deeks into a desperate battle against the local insurgent group responsible for the attack while back in Los Angeles, Eric, Nell and Granger attempt to work the case as they seek to avoid Undersecretary Duggan.
Plot
Callen after he and Sam have discovered Asakeem has escaped.

- This episode is dedicated to the memory of David M. Schneider or David Schneider who worked as a sound mixer/production sound mixer on NCIS: Los Angeles. Schneider died on August 2, 2016 from lung cancer.
