Carla Chase is a Commander in the United States Navy and also a Medical Examiner at Naval Base Pearl Harbor as well as the Medical Examiner for the NCIS: Hawaii team.

Not much is known about Carla Chase's past, other than she joined the US Navy, received the necessary education to become a Medical Examiner, and served as part of the Medical Core in Iraq before being transferred to Naval Base Pearl Harbor in Hawaii.
She also has three ex-husbands.

Chase in the NCIS: Hawaii Season 1 episode, "Gaijin".
Chase made her debut appearance in the NCIS: Hawaii Season 1 episode, "Gaijin" where she conducted the autopsy on murdered Japanese Isso (Petty Officer) Shogo Oada who was a member of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, ultimately revealing her findings to NCIS Special Agents Kai Holman and Lucy Tara.
