Dominic T. "Dom" Vail was a Probationary NCIS Special Agent assigned to the Office of Special Projects and also the original partner to NCIS Special Agent, Kensi Blye up until his abduction in January 2010 and death in May 2010.

Biography[]

Pre-Series[]

Born on September 9, 1983 in Alexandria, Virginia, Dom was the son of retired U.S. Army officer Martin Vail and civilian Lauren Vail.

He also had an unnamed or unidentified sibling or siblings who in turn had children of their own, making Dom an uncle.

Upon graduating high school, Dom later attended college, choosing MIT.

Once he had graduated from MIT, he then chose to join the NCIS agency and went through training at FLETC before being assigned to the Office of Special Projects in Los Angeles.

NCIS: Los Angeles Season 1[]

Dom made his debut appearance in the NCIS: Los Angeles Season 1 premiere episode, Identity (episode) where it was revealed that he had only joined the Office of Special Projects the same week that NCIS Special Agent G. Callen had chosen to return to the team after recovering from the assassination attempt against him which had occurred in the last few minutes of the NCIS Season 6/NCIS: Los Angeles backdoor pilot episode, Legend (Part 2) (episode).

Dom was a young African-American man in his late twenties with black hair although his head was shaven during his time at OSP and brown eyes.
