Evan Dearing was a sailor in the United States Navy and also the son of Harper Dearing and Victoria Dearing as well as the nephew of Joann Dearing.

Biography[]

Pre-Series[]

Born in an unknown State in the U.S., not much was revealed about Evan's life expect for the fact that he was the son of businessman Harper Dearing and his wife, Victoria as well as the nephew of Joann Dearing.

Years later, Evan joined the United States Navy, having originally expressed a desire to his father.

While in the Navy, Evan and two unnamed sailors played a practical joke on a member of NCIS, presumably an Agent Afloat by videotaping the unnamed member in question having sex before playing it for the other crew members, the crime itself a felony.

After the other two members were presumably court-martialed or dishonorably discharged, Evan was reassigned to another Navy ship, the U.S.S. Brandywine.

However, due to the fleet not being updated following 9/11, sometime in 2002, the ship was attacked and in the resulting attack, Evan was one of the fatalities of the incident, the other being Navy Lieutenant Derek Whitting.

Legacy[]

In the aftermath of Evan's death, Harper went off the rails, being arrested multiple times for DUIs- Driving under the influence. He and Victoria tried counselling in hopes of saving their marriage but the pain of Evan's death proved to be too great for the couple and they ultimately ended up divorcing.

Years later, Harper, seeking revenge against NCIS and the United States Navy began a campaign where he recruited various other people to set off explosions on other Navy ships, presumably highlighting the same dangers of the ship his son had been on with Harper personally carrying out the Navy Yard Bombing in May 2012.

This would prompt NCIS to join forces with the FBI and began searching for Harper.

Despite having evaded two federal agencies, the NCIS Major Case Response Team leader Leroy Jethro Gibbs tracked Harper down and just before Harper could shoot him, Gibbs responded by stabbing Harper to death, avenging all those who had died as a result of Harper's campaign including the attack on the Navy Yard.
