Helen McGuire is a woman who is the ex-wife of Luis Perez as well as the mother of Emma Perez and the sister of murdered Navy Commander Frank McGuire.

Not much is known about Helen's life but it's presumed that she is originally from Los Angeles and that she lived with her parents and brother Frank in an area in Los Angeles.
At some point, Helen met and fell in love with Luis Perez whom she later married with the two having a baby girl who they named Emma but her brother, Navy Commander Frank McGuire believed Luis wasn't good enough for his sister due to the fact that Luis was a criminal who worked for Manny Cortez.
Unfortunately, the marriage fell apart, possibly due to Luiz's own criminal activities with Luiz and Helen later divorcing and both subsequently receiving joint custody of Emma.
NCIS: Los Angeles Season 1[]
Helen appeared in the NCIS: Los Angeles Season 1 premiere episode, Identity (episode) where following the murder of her brother who was also a Commander in the United States Navy, she spoke to NCIS Special Agent Kensi Blye and Operational Psychologist Nate Getz.
