Hina is a woman who is also a childhood friend of NCIS Special Agent Kai Holman.

NCIS: Hawaii Season 1[]
Hina made her debut appearance in the NCIS: Hawaii Season 1 premiere episode, "Pilot" where she was revealed to be working at Ace's Surf Shop.
Upon meeting Kai once again, she punched him in the mouth, sending him to the ground while sarcastically remarking, "Welcome home, brah" and during their talk, it was revealed Hina despised Kai for leaving Hawaii and heading to the mainland once he had joined the Marines, Hina telling Kai to never turn his back on the ocean.
Despite this, she later gave him a name: Big Luna, a development that would ultimately solve the case and see Kai and his NCIS Hawaii teammates exposing a Chinese spy ring operating in Hawaii.
Two or three days later, Hina greeted Kai as he arrived at the house with his pet dog, Inoki. She attempted to greet Inoki, only for the dog to run off and befriend Kai's father, Wally instead with Kai bidding farewell to Hina and deciding to leave Inoki in Wally's care as he later joined his boss, NCIS Special Agent in Charge Jane Tennant at her house for a late-night dinner with his fellow NCIS teammates and Jane's two children, Alex and Julie.
