The Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia is the police department responsible for law and order in Washington D.C.
Ever since NCIS began, various Detectives from the Department have appeared on the show, working alongside or with Leroy Jethro Gibbs and his team.
It should be noted that while some of the relationships are good, others are pretty poor due to Gibbs's disregard for protocol and his preference to get straight into the matter at hand.
