Miguel Torres is a man who is an agent with the CIA and also the estranged father of NCIS Special Agent Nicholas Torres and JAG prosecutor Lucia Campbell.

Born in 1956, not much is known about Miguel's early life except for the fact that sometime in the late 1970s or early 1980s, he met Aida Vega with the two beginning a relationship and later marrying with the couple having two children, a girl named Lucia and a boy named Nick, Miguel referring to his son, Nick as either Nicolito or Nico.
The family lived in Colon, Panama while Miguel worked for the local police force during a time when military dictator Manuel Antonio Noriega was in power.
In reality, Miguel was working undercover with an opposition group dedicated to overthrowing Noriega but when his cover was about to be blown which would endangered his life as well as the lives of his wife and young children, Miguel packed a bag and was ultimately forced to flee the country for good in the middle of the night.
On the run, Miguel travelled to Nicaragua and ended up in Cuba where he met agents from the CIA with Miguel himself becoming a CIA agent and working for the agency some time later.
However, his abrupt disappearance had consequences for his family as they were homeless. With no options, Aida, Lucia and Nick moved to Columbia to live with an aunt as they could barely feed themselves and resorted to living off charity from a local church while young Nick grew to resent his father for leaving without a word.
Years later, Lucia and Nick both presumably moved to the United States, gaining citizenship in the process. While Lucia went to join the United States Marine Corps, rising to the rank of Major and starting a family of her by meeting and marrying Navy Commander George Campbell with the couple having a daughter named Amanda in 2001 or 2002 which in turn made Miguel a grandfather, Nick after training at FLETC joined the NCIS agency and presumably went undercover on numerous assignments in South American countries for many years until a case concerning his sister, brother-in-law and niece that occurred in September 2016 forced him to return to the U.S. where he would eventually join the NCIS Major Case Response Team led by NCIS Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs.

- Bauer is best known for his role as Manny Ribera in the 1983 movie, "Scarface".
