Monty is the pet dog of LAPD Detective Liaison-turned-NCIS Investigator, Marty Deeks for the NCIS Office of Special Projects.

Biography[]

Monty is a loyal canine companion, who sometimes goes undercover with Deeks. Monty's special talent is that he can smell out bombs. Although he may not be on active duty, Monty has already saved the team by sniffing out a hidden plastique bomb. Little is known of his life before joining Deeks, although Deeks says that he was a rescue dog, suggesting he spent time in an animal shelter.

NCIS: Los Angeles Season 2[]

Deeks introduces Monty to the team in Deliverance. By the end of the season, Monty makes his second appearance and helps the team locate a bomber and his device in Imposters.

NCIS: Los Angeles Season 3[]

In Deadline, Monty stays at the office temporarily when one of Deeks's dates reveals she is allergic to dogs. By the end of the episode, for his actions in helping the team, Hetty Lange made Monty an honorary member of the OSP team much to Sam Hanna's disbelief.

NCIS: Los Angeles Season 4[]

NCIS: Los Angeles Season 9[]

Trivia[]

  • Monty appears to be a mutt rather than a pedigree dog.
  • Monty enjoys listening to the radio and barks when it's changed or turned off.
