Cast Notes

Maria Bello departed the NCIS series after her final appearance which came in the NCIS Season 18 episode, "True Believer" with her character, Jack Sloane being written off as staying behind in Afghanistan while Emily Wickersham left the NCIS series after the NCIS Season 18 finale episode, "Rule 91" when her character, Bishop was revealed to have disgraced her reputation as an NCIS agent in order to leave the team and go on a long-term assignment with CIA officer, Odette Malone.

Trivia

• This season marks the final appearance of both Maria Bello (Jacqueline Sloane) and Emily Wickersham (Eleanor Bishop) with Bello leaving NCIS after "True Believer" and Wickersham departing after the NCIS Season 18 finale episode, "Rule 91".
• First season to feature Katrina Law as Jessica Knight; she first appeared in the last two episodes of this season; "Blown Away" and "Rule 91". She would later become a main cast member starting the next season.
• Until Season 21 (which is scheduled to have only 10 episodes), this was the shortest season in the history of the NCIS series, airing only sixteen episodes, surpassing Season 5 which aired nineteen episodes.
• NCIS Season 18 aired alongside NCIS: Los Angeles Season 12 and NCIS: New Orleans Season 7 which was also the final season for the entire NCIS: New Orleans series.
