Prita is a shipper term used to describe the romantic relationship between NCIS Special Agent, Dwayne Cassius Pride and military lawyer, Rita Devereaux.
Overview[]
Several years prior to the series, Dwayne and Rita share a close friendship, having been friends for years and have often found themselves sometimes working together on cases since Rita works as a JAG and state's attorney lawyer. In Season 3, Rita has recently move back to New Orleans and approaches Dwayne, requesting his help for a case in regards to a missing colleague. By the end of the investigation, Dwayne and Rita grew closer and took their friendship to the next level, entering a romantic relationship. Over the course of Season 3, Dwayne and Rita's relationship remains strong and Rita begins helping Dwayne with his goal to take down corrupt mayor, Douglas Hamilton. In the followings seasons, Dwayne and Rita remain a strong and stable couple, especially due to the newfound long distance between them when Rita accepts a job offer and moves away to Washington, DC.
