Roberta Deeks is the mother of NCIS Investigator Marty Deeks, and the mother-in-law of NCIS Special Agent Kensi Blye.

Biography

Pre-Series

At some point in the 1970's she began dating a man named Gordon John Brandel, and in early 1979 they had a son they named Martin Atticus Deeks. However, Brandel was an alcoholic and frequently abused both Roberta and their son.

It eventually escalated to the point where a drunk Brandel began wielding a shotgun at his girlfriend and son. In response, a young Marty shot his father non-fatally with Brandel ending up in prison two weeks later.
