Roy Sanders was a Lieutenant in the United States Navy and also an inspector with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Biography
Pre-Series
His life before his appearance in NCIS is almost completely unknown. He had a sister, who owns a husky. His mother and father live far from the United States. He worked at the International Atomic Energy Agency.
NCIS Season 4
In 'Dead Man Walking' starts with McGee escorting Roy to the center of the room. He requests that NCIS investigate a murder. After pulling hair from his head he says that it's the murder of himself.
Roy had been in Brazil inspecting a nuclear plant, where he "found violations". He was poisoned with Thallium by his co-worker, Holly.
Throughout the episode Roy and Ziva bond together. They know each other because they run past each other every day during their morning runs. Roy wears an orange hat to make himself visible to drivers.
In 'Skeletons', Ziva mentions to Abby that Roy died.
At the beginning of 'Iceman', Ziva walks in late wearing Roy's orange hat. She also says that she "ran a new route" and it "took longer than expected."
Similarly in the next episode 'Grace Period', Ziva is again wearing his orange hat at the beginning of the episode.
And again in 'Cover Story' Ziva wear the orange hat. And Roy is refrenced when discussing how the character in Mcgee's book based on ziva also had an love who died.
Personality
As he is not a recurring character, his personality is never elaborated on. But throughout 'Dead Man Walking', he seems nice and at the end of the episode seems to accept his fate.
Physical Appearance
Roy is in his 40s. He is white, with short black hair. He is somewhat tall.
