Shay Lynn Mosley is the successor to Owen Granger and the newly-appointed NCIS Executive Assistant Director for Pacific Operations; in this capacity, she is charged with overseeing the Office of Special Projects in Los Angeles.[1]



Prior to joining NCIS, EAD Mosley was an agent with the Secret Service.[2]

NCIS: Los Angeles Season 9Edit

Upon her arrival in Los Angeles, EAD Mosley brought with her her executive assistant, Special Agent Harley Hidoko.

One of her first acts as supervisor for the Office of Special Projects was to send Detective Marty Deeks back to the LAPD; however, since his active participation was essential in stopping a major terrorist attack, she allowed him to remain on the team.

Mosley is an African-American woman in her forties with long black hair and brown eyes.


Mosley claims she played varsity basketball at the University of Connecticut. UConn has the top-rated women's basketball program in the United States, having won the most championship tournaments.


  • Mosley is the first character seen to hold the rank of Executive Assistant Director for the Naval Criminal Investigative Service.
  • Has a son named Derrek, who was abducted by Spencer Williams.
