She is the 13th episode of NCIS Season 16 and the 367th episode of the entire NCIS series.
Synopsis
NCIS investigate when a confused and malnourished nine year old girl is found hiding in a storage unit on a Marine base, with the team discovering it's connected to a ten year old cold case regarding the disappearance of a Navy recruit. As Bishop digs deeper, she learns that her predecessor has been keeping notebooks and files on the case.
Prologue
With the light from a flashlight shining into a lake, the voice of NCIS Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs says, "I had a dream I was her".
Suddenly, a figure dives into the water.
The screen then goes dark and then brightens once again as the figure swims downwards just as a beating heart can be heard playing in the ground as Gibbs remarks, "I was trapped".
"I could not get out", Gibbs states as the figure continues swimming.
Suddenly, something is shot into the water, aiming for the figure as Gibbs is heard stating, "Yet I believed there would be a savior".
The screen then darkens and it opens up again into a deep part of the lake with Gibbs saying, "To the very end, I believed".
It then cuts to show that the figure is none other than NCIS Special Agent Eleanor Bishop who glances in front of her as Gibbs remarks, "But sometimes a savior never comes" while the beating heart continues to be heard in the background.

Major Events
- It's revealed that once the case and investigation of Navy trainee Morgan Burke was passed off to the Sheriff's department, Ziva continued investigating herself, even secretly renting an office so that she could keep files and information on other cases she worked on outside of NCIS.
- Kasie is revealed to celebrate "random day", delivering presents to her NCIS colleagues with Palmer receiving a punching bag and Torres a glass jar.
- Gibbs sets fire to Rule 10- "Never get personally involved on a case", presumably removing it from his Rules.
- Bishop later returns to the office and finds a note, implying Ziva is alive, having faked her death to protect her family.
Trivia
- During the episode, Bishop's fringes appear in some scenes but are gone in others.
