Trent Thomas Kort was a one-eyed British national and a former CIA operative who is also a former rival to NCIS Senior Special Agent, Anthony DiNozzo Junior. He started as a neutral character in the first seasons, and in Season 13 emerged as the main antagonist of the last episodes of the season.

Pre-Series[]
NCIS Season 4[]
He appears first in Smoked (episode) when it is unclear what Tony DiNozzo's undercover assignment is. Later he appears in the episode where the team is on the pursuit of the French Arms dealer René Benoit AKA "The Frog" AKA "La Grenouille". It is revealed after a while that he is not simply an associate of Benoit, but a CIA operative, who took part in Operation Lodestone, where the main objective was to make Benoit's Arms business the largest in the world.
NCIS Season 5[]
In season 5 he is only present in two episodes. In the 14th episode of the season he orchestrated the investigation into NCIS and Shepard and lest Shepard clues to suggest her father was alive in order to make her fail the polygraph and discredit her, all to protect "La Grenouille" and his business. Officially he is Benoit's killer, and he took over his business, because him retiring like Benoit had planned would jeopardize the operation.

Personality[]
Kort was a cold, calculating individual with little to no morality.
Physical Appearance[]
Kort was a tall, lean man in his late forties, early fifties with a shaved head and blue eyes.
However, upon losing his eye at the hands of Port-to-Port Killer, Navy Lieutenant Jonas Cobb, Kort resorted to wearing an eyepatch, presumably to cover the fact that his left eye socket was now empty.
By the time he had returned in "Dead Letter", it was shown that he had discarded the eyepatch and that he was now wearing a glass eye.
He also wore numerous business suits composed of a single jacket, trousers, a shirt, a tie and shoes as well as a silver watch.

Trivia[]
- Although Trent is wearing a prosthetic eye after losing his real one, there are many scenes where the fake eye moves as if it were still the real one and the color is not dulled, as seen in Dead Letter (episode) where he points out he wears a fake eye with a lighter color but when he talks with Abby there appears to be no change.
