Wendy Harris was the civilian mother of Luke Harris and the wife of David Harris. She was murdered by Sadiq Samar, a member of the terror cell known as The Calling, in retribution for her son's refusal to cooperate with the group.
Wendy and David Harris were contacted by NCIS shortly after the unsuccessful suicide bombing committed by Bradley Simek; their son Luke, who they'd reported missing the night before, was seen at the site of the explosion by Gibbs.
The Harrises explained that their son was adopted from a Middle Eastern family, and that he had been socially ostracized for his race at school. The day he had gone missing, several of his peers had spraypainted insults onto his locker. David described Luke coming home and destroying his bedroom. He went on to describe some of the sites that he had found Luke to be visiting online, with others posting there telling Luke that he was an outcast and that his pain was from him 'pretending to be an American.' Wendy chimed in to add that they had taken Luke to see a therapist, and that it had helped him greatly. The two embraced one another after Gibbs assured them that every effort would be made to find their son and return him safely.
Alas, while NCIS managed to find Luke Harris, both Wendy and David were shot to death by Sadiq Samar, Luke's commander and handler within The Calling, a retributive terrorist organization that he had discovered online and become a part of. The bodies of both David and Wendy were discovered by Gibbs, who had brought Luke home to see his parents. Luke entered the home despite Gibbs' instructions and saw their bodies. Afterward, a social worker was assigned to look over Luke until the situation with The Calling was addressed.
